In general, however, the key to success is exotics wagering is recognizing “value” – horses that appear likely to outrun their odds, particularly in the exotics pools – and determining the most profitable way to use those runners from the wagering menu.
Whether to bet vertically ( exactas , trifectas , etc.) or horizontally ( Daily Double , Pick 3 , Pick 6 , etc.) will depend on the makeup of the field in each contest and the composition of those in the surrounding races.
