Monmouth, in partnership with BetMakers Technology Group, announced the launch of MonmouthBets app right before the Monmouth Park Racetrack season opened on May 13th, 2023.
It brings a change from the pari-mutuel system of wagering, but was something that people wanted for a long time in the Garden State.
“With last year’s retail offering setting the foundation, we are excited and honored to bring fixed odds betting to horseplayers through our MonmouthBets digital platforms,” BetMakers CEO Jake Henson said. “Fixed odds betting will help to form a healthy betting ecosystem for horse racing in New Jersey and beyond, with the transformative potential to provide a massive benefit to the entire racing industry.”
If the site is successful, expect other states to launch fixed odds wagering on horse racing.
What to bet at Monmouthbets fixed odds site?
You can bet on win, place, and show for any race on the board at Monmouth Park, in the app, or at the physical track. In fact, fixed odds betting launched last year at the track.
So which tracks can you bet?
On the first weekend of racing, MonmouthBets had four tracks listed on the app:
- Monmouth Park
- Hawthorne
- Monterrico
- Emerald Downs
That number could increase with time, as more tracks opt in to fixed odds wagering. You can bet on win, place, or show in any of the races on the board.
