FanDuel built its name in the United States on a clean app and same-game parlays, and the Ontario version keeps both. It is a sportsbook that feels designed for the phone first, with the parlay builder never more than a tap away.
Here we look at FanDuel's Ontario licence, its betting menu for Canadian sports, the app's standing on the Canadian App Store, payments, safer-play tools and what players have written about it.
We score FanDuel Ontario 8.7 out of 10. Its iPhone app rates 4.8 from about 47,000 ratings on the Canadian App Store, a shade above bet365 and DraftKings, and its same-game parlay tools are as smooth as anything in the province. FanDuel also says deposits and payouts can land in as little as two hours.
It sits below bet365 for two reasons: it does not advertise live streaming in its Ontario app listing, and it has no horse racing. Some Ontario players have also complained, on the record, that FanDuel's injury rules for NBA player props are stricter here than in other markets.
Yes. iGaming Ontario lists FanDuel Sportsbook (on.sportsbook.fanduel.ca) among the regulated gaming sites in the province, alongside FanDuel Casino and FanDuel Poker. Every site on that list is registered by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and operates under an agreement with iGO.
The FanDuel entity on iGaming Ontario's operator list is FanDuel Canada ULC. The App Store lists FanDuel Limited as the seller and FanDuel, Inc. as the developer, both part of the same group.
Ontario opened its regulated market on 4 April 2022. Before that, single-event betting had become legal across Canada in August 2021 through Bill C-218, with each province deciding how to offer it under Criminal Code s. 207. Ontario chose an open model with private operators; most other provinces still rely on a lottery-corporation site. Our Canada betting hub explains the difference.
FanDuel's Ontario app lists the NHL, NBA, CFL, NFL, MLB, soccer, MMA and tennis, with bet types from moneylines, spreads and totals to parlays, player props, futures and in-game betting.
Hockey is where most Ontario slips start. A typical Hockey Night in Canada parlay might pair a Maple Leafs moneyline with a Canadiens over and an anytime goal scorer. FanDuel's builder prices the combination as you add each leg.
For illustration: a C$20 straight bet on the Senators at 2.20 (+120) returns $44. A three-leg parlay at combined odds of 6.00 (+500) returns $120 for the same $20, but every leg must win. Parlays pay more because they lose more often.
FanDuel Ontario's player-prop rules are worth reading before you bet. One Ontario reviewer on the App Store complained that FanDuel does not void NBA props when a player is injured early in a game; FanDuel replied that props are generally voided only if the player does not enter the game.
In-game betting is part of the core product. Live odds update through each game, and the app lists in-game betting among its core bet types alongside straight bets, parlays and props.
FanDuel's Ontario app listing does not advertise live streaming, so plan to watch on TV or another service. If streaming inside the sportsbook matters to you, bet365 Ontario and Betway Ontario both advertise it.
One App Store review from October 2025 criticized crashes during live bets. It is one review among tens of thousands of ratings, but worth knowing if you bet mostly in-play.
The FanDuel Sportsbook and Casino app has a 4.8 rating from about 47,000 ratings on the Canadian App Store. Unlike some rivals, the listing is Ontario-only: it says users must be 19+ and physically present in Ontario. It needs iOS 15.1 or later and is a large download at almost 300 MB, because the casino is built in.
On Google Play, FanDuel publishes a Canadian package (com.fanduel.sportsbook.ca) that describes itself as a legal, real-money gambling app in Ontario and lists ConnexOntario for support. The Google Play pages we read did not show a rating.
FanDuel's Canadian App Store listing promises quick, secure deposits and payouts "in as little as 2 hours". Treat that as a best case: your first withdrawal may wait on identity checks, and timing varies by method.
FanDuel's Ontario help and cashier pages load only after sign-in, so the full list of methods and limits is visible only once you have an account. Check the cashier before you deposit and choose a method you can also withdraw to, as that keeps payouts simple.
FanDuel's Ontario sportsbook terms are published at sportsbook.fanduel.ca/terms.
FanDuel's Ontario sportsbook listing does not include horse racing. Ontario racing fans can bet Woodbine, Mohawk and the King's Plate through bet365, OLG's PROLINE+ or HPIbet. Our Ontario horse racing guide compares them.
FanDuel's Ontario account area has a responsible-play section with tools including reality checks and a player activity statement, and its app listing points players to ConnexOntario. Use the account limits before you place your first bet.
Every regulated Ontario site is also covered by BetGuard, iGaming Ontario's centralized self-exclusion tool. One request blocks access to all regulated online gambling in the province, including OLG, for six months, one year, five years or a custom term.
Support runs through the help section inside the app and on the Ontario site. FanDuel replies publicly to many App Store reviews and directs players to its support team, which suggests complaints are at least seen.
If an issue is not resolved, Ontario players can raise it with iGaming Ontario, which oversees the regulated market.
We read the reviews on FanDuel's Canadian App Store listing. The overall score is high, but the written reviews on show lean critical, which is common: unhappy customers write more.
“I love this app”
“I've tried multiple sportsbooks over the years, and FanDuel stands out as one of the absolute worst.”
“Everywhere else except ONTARIO has NBA bet protect voiding 1st qtr injuries, fanduel does not.”
