BetRivers is the online brand of Rush Street Interactive, and it takes its name from the Rivers casinos in the United States. In Ontario it runs a combined sportsbook and casino under one account, with one of the widest lists of payment methods among the province's regulated sites.
We checked iGaming Ontario's directory, the BetRivers Ontario site and its Canadian App Store listing, and read what players are saying, to see whether it deserves a spot on your phone.
BetRivers is a steady, mainstream choice among Ontario sports betting sites. It covers the big leagues well, keeps sports and casino in a single account, and accepts more ways to pay than most rivals, from Interac to PayPal and American Express.
The Ontario app scores 4.8 on the Canadian App Store from about 4,400 ratings, an excellent number. The written reviews on that page are a different story: the most visible ones complain about identity checks, slow withdrawals and account closures. We take both seriously. A high star average shows many people are happy; the written complaints show where things go wrong.
We rate BetRivers Ontario 7.8 out of 10. It is solid on the basics, but it lacks a stand-out sportsbook feature and has no advertised streaming or racing, which keeps it well behind bet365 Ontario.
Yes. BetRivers is listed on iGaming Ontario's directory of regulated sites, offering both casino and sports betting. The operating company on iGaming Ontario's list is Rush Street Interactive Canada, ULC, the same entity named in the copyright line of the Canadian BetRivers app. Like every operator on that list, it is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and offers its games under an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario.
The BetRivers app describes itself as a regulated Canadian casino and sportsbook operated by Rush Street Interactive. The Ontario website says you must be 19 or older and physically present in Ontario to play, and displays the iGaming Ontario logo.
BetRivers also runs a separate Alberta site. Accounts, rules and helplines differ by province; this review covers Ontario.
The Canadian app lists moneylines, point spreads, totals, parlays, player props, futures and live in-play betting across leagues including the NHL, NBA, NFL and PGA Tour. That covers what most Ontario bettors want week to week: Leafs and Senators puck lines, Raptors totals and NFL Sunday parlays.
The depth is mainstream rather than specialist. BetRivers doesn't highlight a signature parlay tool in Ontario the way some rivals do, and we found no evidence of an exchange-style or racing product.
Suppose the Jets are 2.20 (+120) to beat the Oilers. For illustration, a C$25 bet would return $55 if Winnipeg wins: $25 back plus $30 profit. If you added the over on 6.5 goals at 1.91 (−110) as a second leg, the parlay price would be about 4.20 and the same $25 would return roughly $105, but both legs must win.
Prices move constantly. Check the slip before you confirm, and compare lines with one or two other legal sportsbooks in Ontario on big games.
Live in-play betting is part of the BetRivers Ontario app, with odds updating as the action unfolds across hockey, basketball and football. It is the standard modern in-play product: moneylines, totals and spreads that shift during the game.
Live video streaming of sports isn't mentioned in the Canadian app listing. The "live" content BetRivers highlights is its live-dealer casino. If you want to watch and bet in one place, bet365 Ontario is the stronger pick.
The Ontario iPhone app is called BetRivers Casino & Sportsbook. On the Canadian App Store it holds a 4.8 rating from about 4,400 ratings and was ranked #7 in Sports when we checked. It needs iOS 16.4 or later and is updated often; the latest version arrived in October 2026.
| Platform | Rating | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| iOS (Canada) | 4.8 / 5 (4.4K ratings) | Seller: Rush Street Interactive; copyright Rush Street Interactive Canada, ULC |
| Android | Not verified | The public Google Play listing was BetRivers' U.S. app, so we have not quoted a Canadian Android rating |
The app combines sportsbook and casino in one place, with slots, table games and live dealer games beside the betting menu. If you only want sports, that can feel busy; if you play both, one wallet is convenient.
Android users can also download BetRivers' Ontario app through Google Play, but check the listing shows Ontario before you install, since BetRivers runs separate U.S. apps.
Payment choice is where BetRivers stands out. Its Canadian app lists Interac, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal and Trustly. Accounts run in Canadian dollars.
| Method | Notes |
|---|---|
| Interac | The everyday choice for most Ontario bettors |
| Visa / Mastercard | Card deposits |
| American Express | Less common among Ontario sportsbooks |
| PayPal | E-wallet option |
| Trustly | Online banking through your bank's log-in |
On withdrawals, BetRivers says requests are processed quickly, with the majority approved automatically. It doesn't publish one fixed payout time in its app listing, and timing depends on the method and on whether your identity checks are complete.
Horse racing isn't among the sports BetRivers highlights in Ontario. To bet Woodbine, Mohawk or the King's Plate, see our Ontario horse-racing betting guide.
The Canadian app lists deposit, spend and time limits, plus self-suspension and self-exclusion. Those cover the essentials: you can cap what goes in, how much you play, and how long you spend, or step away entirely.
The Ontario site carries the ConnexOntario message on every page. If gambling stops being fun, call, or use the self-exclusion tools straight away.
The BetRivers Ontario site links to a 24/7 Help centre for account, payment and betting questions, and the help centre has a page on how to file a complaint. App Store replies from BetRivers direct users to an email address for follow-up.
The Ontario footer doesn't list a phone number, so expect to work through the help centre and written channels.
The overall App Store score is high at 4.8, but the reviews shown first on the Canadian page skew negative. Common themes are identity checks, withdrawal delays and casino results. We have included the balance we could find.
“Love this casino app”
“Withdrawal in progress for over a week. Customer service is horrible, don't respond to an emails.”
“Good luck trying to get your money out if you win, it's almost impossible”

If the app says you are outside Ontario, turn on precise location and Wi-Fi, and try again away from a provincial border.
