Sports Interaction has been serving Canadian sports fans since 1997, and in July 2026 it moved into Alberta's regulated market. AGLC issued its licence on 23 July 2026, and owner Entain announced the move from Calgary the next day.
We score it 7.7 out of 10. It is best for bettors who want a long-standing Canadian brand with a local team, though its app reviews are mixed.
Few sportsbook names are as familiar to Canadians as Sports Interaction. Entain's release describes the brand as "Proudly serving Canadian sports fans since 1997", and says it brings Canadian-based customer support and local operational teams in Calgary.
The worry is the app. Its ratings are respectable, 4.5 on the App Store, but recent written reviews complain about a new layout and bugs. We weigh that against the brand's long Canadian history.
Sports Interaction suits bettors who value a brand they have known for years and like the idea of a support team in Calgary. Its parlay options cover most of what an NHL bettor needs. If app polish matters more to you than heritage, theScore Bet or FanDuel are better reviewed.
Yes. Sports Interaction is a legal, regulated option for players in Alberta. The province opened its competitive online market on 13 July 2026 under the iGaming Alberta Act, and two public bodies split the work. Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) registers and regulates operators. The Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC), a Crown corporation, conducts and manages the commercial market. An operator has to register with AGLC and then complete a commercial agreement with AiGC before it can take a bet from an Albertan.
AiGC publishes the directory of approved sites, and its rule of thumb is blunt: if an operator does not appear there, it is not regulated. Sports Interaction is listed at ab.sportsinteraction.com.
Entain's release, datelined Calgary on 24 July 2026, says Sports Interaction and PartyCasino operate under licences issued by AGLC the previous day, 23 July 2026. The app listing confirms "18+ Alberta Only" for Alberta players.
Sports Interaction is part of Entain plc. The Canadian app is developed by Electraworks Maple Limited.
Sports Interaction covers the NHL, NBA, NFL, soccer, tennis and more, before the game and live. For Alberta bettors that means the Oilers, the Flames and the Battle of Alberta, the Raptors and Blue Jays, and the CFL through to the Grey Cup.
You can build a same-game parlay, pick from pre-built parlays, or put together a custom parlay across games. Pre-built options are handy on a busy NHL night when you don't want to assemble every leg.
For illustration only: a C$20 bet on the Oilers at 2.50 (+150) returns $50, which is your $20 stake plus $30 profit. A $25 bet on the Flames at 1.80 (-125) returns $45. These are not live prices.
Odds in Canada are commonly shown in decimal format, and many apps let you switch to American odds. Decimal odds include your stake, so 1.80 means a $10 bet returns $18. American odds are quoted against $100: -125 means you risk $125 to win $100, and +150 means a $100 bet wins $150. A decimal price also shows the implied chance: 2.50 works out to 40 per cent, before the sportsbook's margin.
Live betting runs with real-time odds, and the app includes cash-out and open-bet tracking.
Live streaming is not advertised in its Canadian app listing.
Sports Interaction Sportsbook holds 4.5 out of 5 on the Canadian App Store from about 9,500 ratings, with more than 50,000 Android downloads. The listing covers Ontario and Alberta only.
More than 3,000 casino games share the same balance as the sportsbook. Recent written reviews criticise a redesigned layout, so expect a learning curve if you used the older app.
Sports Interaction's Canadian listing highlights "Easy deposits with Interac and Visa" and describes withdrawals as fast. Entain's Alberta release also promises fast payouts. Your balance is in Canadian dollars.
Check the cashier for the withdrawal methods and limits that apply to your account, and finish identity checks before your first withdrawal.
Sports Interaction's Canadian app listing does not mention horse racing.
Horse racing in Canada is bet through pari-mutuel pools supervised by the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency (CPMA), a different system from the fixed odds you get on hockey or football. If you want to bet Century Mile or the big North American cards, our guide to horse racing betting in Alberta covers where Albertans can do that, and the national racing guide explains the pari-mutuel rules.
Every site in AiGC's directory has to offer the same baseline protections: deposit limits, time limits, age verification and self-exclusion. Entain's Alberta release carries the reminder "[18+] Please play responsibly." Deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion are in the account settings.
Alberta runs the AGLC Centralized Self-Exclusion Program. According to AiGC, a decision to step away is honoured by all registered iGaming sites in the province, so excluding yourself once covers Sports Interaction and every other regulated sportsbook at the same time. Details are at selfexclusion.ca.
Set a deposit limit before your first deposit rather than after a bad night. Treat what you stake as the cost of entertainment, never as a way to fix money worries.
Entain says Sports Interaction offers Canadian-based customer support, with local operational teams in Calgary. That local presence is a real plus if you ever need to resolve an account issue.
We read Sports Interaction's listings on the Canadian App Store and Google Play. The written reviews we found were critical, mostly about the app redesign and bugs, even though the overall ratings are respectable. Per-review star ratings were not displayed.
“The new app layout is really frustrating.”
“How is this rated so high?. New one is so slow, so many bugs.”
Quoted word for word from public reviews; one review is never the whole picture. Alberta’s regulated market opened on 13 July 2026, so reviews dated earlier on the same Canadian listing come from players in Ontario.
How Sports Interaction compares with three Alberta rivals on the points that matter.
