We rate bet365 Ontario 9.1 out of 10, the highest score among the Ontario sportsbooks we review. It earns that on substance: an in-play section that keeps markets open through almost every stoppage, live streaming on a wide range of events, pari-mutuel racing in the same wallet, and withdrawal times that bet365 itself publishes and that compare well with anyone in the province.
It is not a perfect product. The menu can feel crowded on a phone, and a minority of players report payment hiccups that take a call to customer service to resolve. But for someone who bets during games rather than only before them, it is the account we would open first.

Is bet365 legal in Ontario?
Yes. bet365 appears on iGaming Ontario's directory of regulated gaming sites at on.bet365.ca, offering both sports betting and casino. Its Ontario terms state that the sportsbook is run by Hillside (International Sports) ENC and the casino by Hillside (International Gaming) ENC, both Malta-registered entities, and that both are licensed and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario under registration OPIG1232411.
Most products are offered as agent of iGaming Ontario (iGO), the provincial agency that contracts with private operators. That is the arrangement behind Ontario's open market, which launched on 4 April 2022 under the province's authority in Criminal Code s. 207, after Bill C-218 made single-event betting legal in August 2021.
In practice the licence gives you a route for complaints. bet365's terms say disputes go through its internal procedure first, and iGO has oversight of customer care and dispute resolution if that does not settle things.
Check the site you are on: regulated Ontario sites show the iGaming Ontario and BetGuard logos. The Ontario address is on.bet365.ca, not the international bet365.com.

The sports list covers what Ontario bettors actually follow. The app listing names the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB and the UEFA Champions League among its pre-game and live sports, and the help centre carries rules pages for baseball, soccer and cricket.
For hockey nights you get the usual moneyline, puck line and totals, plus period betting and player props. Same Game Parlay+ (bet365's bet builder) lets you combine selections from one game, say a Maple Leafs win with over 5.5 goals and a point for your favourite forward. Cash Out lets you settle a bet before the final whistle at the price on offer.
How the odds work, for illustration
Odds show in decimal by default. For illustration: a C$20 bet on the Blue Jays at 2.50 (+150) returns $50, which is your $20 stake plus $30 profit. A $20 bet on the Raptors at 1.67 (-150) returns about $33.40. Prices move constantly and these are examples, not live lines.
Coverage is just as strong outside the big four. CFL games through to the Grey Cup, the World Juniors over the holidays, tennis, golf and soccer from MLS to the Champions League all carry long market lists.

Live streaming is the other half. bet365's Canadian app listing promises live streaming of many events, so you can watch a tennis match or a soccer game in the same app where you are betting on it. Availability varies by event and rights, so check the play icon next to a fixture before you rely on it.
Cash Out works in-play too, which helps if a Senators lead starts to look fragile late in the third. Remember that a cash-out price includes the bookmaker's margin, so it usually returns less than the bet's fair value at that moment.

The iPhone app, published by Hillside Technology Limited, holds a 4.7 rating from about 182,000 ratings on the Canadian App Store. The same listing serves Alberta, so the score reflects both provinces. It needs iOS 15 or later and weighs about 48 MB, light by sportsbook standards.
On Android, bet365 publishes a separate Canadian app (package com.bet365SportsCA) on Google Play, which states 19+ for Ontario and lists ConnexOntario for support. Recent reviews there are mixed on payments, as you will see below.
