The extra winnings are capped at £50,000 per customer per day online and £1,000 in shops. Ante-post, Tote, place-only bets, price boosts and pre-packaged multiples fall outside it. On selected races the firm pays extra places at a fifth the odds: four places with 12 or more runners, five with 16 or more and six once the field reaches 20. The guarantee covers online and Fon-A-Bet customers alike, and the 8am start matches the best in the market. Take an early or board price in the morning and, if the horse drifts, you are paid at the bigger starting price.

Pick Your Place on selected races

The clever twist on extra places is Pick Your Place. On selected races you choose how much place cover you want: one extra-place market in races of six to nine runners, two in fields of 10 to 13 and three once 14 or more go to post. These are each-way singles-only markets and Best Odds Guaranteed does not apply to them, so weigh up the trade-off before you choose.

Add Non-Runner No Bet at the major festivals, which at Cheltenham has covered all 28 races, and the each-way toolkit at BoyleSports is among the deepest on offer, particularly for handicap punters who like to spread their risk down the field.

Bet types and racing promotions

Win and each-way singles are joined by full-cover bets, and the Lucky 15, Lucky 31 and Lucky 63 carry a One Winner promotion that pays a consolation if just one selection obliges. Money Back 2nd to the SP Favourite returns a losing stake as a free bet token on selected races, a similar concession runs on greyhounds up to £20 a race, and non-runner no bet is part of the menu. Money Back if 2nd to the SP Favourite is one of BoyleSports’ best racing perks. You opt in on the day, it runs on selected UK and Irish meetings, and it needs only five runners, with no restriction on the favourite’s price, so it still pays when a short-priced favourite does the damage. Back a 7/1 shot in a competitive handicap, watch it chase the favourite home, and your stake comes back as a free bet. Joint and co-favourites both count, and the race is settled on the first-past-the-post result.

The £25 package is easy to trigger, but BoyleSports attaches a few conditions to how the free bets are spent that matter more on the racecourse than on the football coupon.

The qualifying bet

The help centre defines it as a bet with a unit stake of £10 or more at evens (1/1) or bigger, placed within 30 days of registering. The phrase unit stake matters for each-way punters: a £5 each-way bet costs £10 in total but has a £5 unit stake, so it will not qualify. Back £10 each way, or £10 win, on something at evens or longer.

Spending the £25

The free bets sit in a Free Bet Balance rather than as fixed tokens, so you can stake them in smaller amounts across several bets on any sport, selecting Use Free Bet Balance on the bet slip. Every free bet must be placed at evens (2.0) or bigger, and the balance expires seven days after it is credited.

No BOG on free bets

This is the catch for racing fans. BoyleSports free bets cannot be combined with Best Odds Guaranteed or its cash-back specials, so a horse backed with free bet money at 3/1 that goes off at 5/1 is paid at 3/1, and a free-bet runner that finishes second to the favourite earns no refund. Save the free bets for bets you would take at the morning price anyway.

Stake not returned

Free bet stakes are never returned, only the winnings. BoyleSports also voids free bets and any winnings where it finds abuse, and its decision on that is final.

A worked example

Deposit £10 by debit card and place a £10 win single on a 2/1 shot. Whether it wins or loses, £25 lands in the Free Bet Balance within an hour of settlement. Split it as £15 on a 3/1 winner and £10 on a 6/4 loser and you collect £45 from the first bet and nothing from the second; neither stake comes back.

Money back as a free bet: the small print

The refund when your horse finishes second to the SP favourite is capped at a £10 free bet, valid for seven days. It applies only to the first bet you place on each race, and only to win singles or the win part of each-way singles, and dead heats are excluded. The same refund runs on selected greyhound races, and on selected single races BoyleSports also offers money back as a free bet, again up to £10, if your horse loses.

Fair Play if a horse fails to start

If your horse comes under starter's orders but fails to take part, BoyleSports refunds the stake as a free bet, up to £100 on win bets or £50 each way per customer. It covers British and Irish singles, online and in the shops, and it is a concession few online bookmakers advertise.

Lucky 15 Double The Odds

The One Winner cover on Lucky 15s, 31s and 63s is more generous than a token consolation: if every selection runs and only one wins, the winnings on that selection are doubled and paid in cash once the final leg settles. It applies to win and each-way Lucky bets on horse racing and greyhounds.

BOYLE Xtra in the shops

Shop customers with a BOYLE Xtra card get their own racing refunds, including money back as a free bet, up to £10, when the horse finishes second, third or fourth to the SP favourite on selected races. Card points also earn entries to prize draws.

BoyleSports promotions for existing customers across the sportsbook

Football punters get the widest choice. The acca boost runs on a ladder that starts at 5% for a treble and climbs to 100% for a 20-fold, with every leg at 1/5 or bigger and the bonus capped at £1,000; on each-way accumulators it applies to the win part. Ultimate Acca lets you pick either that boost or acca insurance on your first acca, but not both, and boosted prices and free bets are excluded.

Bet Builder boosts add 25% or 50% to winnings on a builder priced at 3/1 or bigger, with a £20 maximum stake, one per match and a £1,000 cap, across football, NBA and NFL. BoyleSports or QuinnBet for everyday racing value?

The closest like-for-like rival is QuinnBet, another bookmaker with Irish roots and a racing-heavy promotions page. Both run a refund when your horse finishes second to the favourite, but BoyleSports asks for only five runners and sets no minimum price for the favourite, where QuinnBet needs six runners and a favourite sent off bigger than 6/4, which means the BoyleSports version pays out in more races.

BoyleSports sports betting: football, accas and more

For a book best known for racing, the wider BoyleSports sportsbook holds up better than you might expect. Football is well stocked, with Acca Rewards, Bet Builders, Bet Boosts and an early payout if your team goes two goals ahead, and the same early-payout idea extends to NFL and rugby league.

Acca insurance returns your stake, up to £20, when one leg of a qualifying accumulator lets you down, and the acca loyalty scheme adds a £5 free bet for every five accas you place. Sub Swap lets football punters keep a player bet alive when he is substituted, while basketball, golf and the rest of the calendar are solidly covered.
