SBK promo code and welcome offer: Bet £20 Get £50 in Free Bets

The SBK sign-up offer works without a promo code. New UK customers who make a first deposit of £10 or more by debit card or bank transfer and place a £20 bet at odds of 2/1 or bigger receive £50 in free bets within 48 hours, with nothing to type in at registration.

The catch is twofold. First, the payment route matters: a first deposit by PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Revolut or a virtual or prepaid card rules you out of the welcome bonus. Second, the £50 free bet offer is paid as tokens for multiples and Bet Builders, each needing at least five legs and none usable on full-cover bets such as a Yankee, so a racing single is off the table.

SBK sign-up offer: £50 in free bets within 48 hours

The qualifying bet is a bet of £20 or more at odds of 3.0 (2/1) or bigger, and it has to be placed and settled; Bet Builders and multiples count as long as the stake reaches £20, but cashed-out bets do not. Once it settles, SBK credits £50 in free bets within 48 hours, released as tokens for Bet Builders and multiples rather than as one lump sum.

Each token must be used within five days of landing and needs five or more legs. For racing, that means a five-horse accumulator at the minimum, so check what a five-fold could return on our bet calculator. A winning free bet pays winnings to your withdrawable balance without the stake.

Because tokens can land at different points in that 48-hour window, each runs on its own five-day clock from the moment it is credited, not from the date of your qualifying bet. Check the promo balance in the app after each drop, or some of the £50 may lapse unused.

The leg minimum is the part that catches most punters out. You cannot use a token on a single match-winner punt or a horse-racing single. Bet Builder tokens need several markets within one fixture and multiple tokens need separate selections. If you do not normally build accas or Bet Builders, the £50 is harder to extract than the headline suggests, because five-leg bets have a lower win probability than singles and only the winnings come back.

For punters who already build accas regularly, the offer is good value; it is worth claiming if you bet football accumulators, value sharp ongoing pricing and are comfortable with an app-first platform. It is probably not for you if you bet mainly on singles, want a free bet you can use however you like, or are new to multiples and Bet Builders. Existing Smarkets exchange users are not eligible.

  3. Place a £20 bet at 2/1 or bigger and let it run to settlement without cashing out.
  4. Use the £50 in free bet tokens within five days of each one landing, with five or more legs per bet.

SBK horse racing: exchange prices and live pictures

SBK covers every British and Irish meeting, with greyhounds and virtual racing alongside, and streams racing from Britain, Ireland and France in the app. What sets it apart is pricing rather than promotions: odds are shaped by the Smarkets exchange, and the Best Price tool compares SBK's odds with other bookmakers' so you can see whether you are getting value. Anyone who already uses the exchange will recognise the approach; our betting exchange guide explains how those markets work.

SBK opened to the public in August 2019, after a year of private testing, as a fixed-odds product designed to bring exchange-style sharp pricing to the casual punter; its prices are taken from the Smarkets exchange. Where the Smarkets exchange looks and feels like a financial trading platform, SBK is built for app-first betting with a cleaner interface. Price+ benchmarks its odds against the major UK bookmakers and flags when SBK is top price, and in-play betting covers football, tennis and basketball among others.

No Best Odds Guaranteed, no extra-place programme

SBK does not offer Best Odds Guaranteed, and it has no regular extra-places scheme that we could find. The trade is a different philosophy: a sharper price up front, instead of a concession that only pays out when the starting price beats your odds. Whether that works for you depends on when you bet. Early-morning players lose a safety net; those who bet close to the off lose little.

Bet types

Win and each-way singles are joined by racing multiples, and the welcome free bet tokens need accumulators of five or more legs. Price alerts tell you when a price moves your way, while Fresh Legs and Acca Boosts belong to the sports side.

Streaming and racing features

Live pictures of British, Irish and French racing are built into the app. SBK does not publish a qualifying-bet rule for the streams that we could confirm. The Rewards Hub, Acca Boosts of up to 100% and winnings boosts round out the promotions, though none is specific to racing.

Who SBK suits

SBK makes most sense for a punter who shops around for price and bets close to the off, when the absence of Best Odds Guaranteed costs least. If you prefer to take an early price and let a concession protect it, a traditional firm such as Betfred will serve you better, and our horse racing betting sites guide compares the bookmakers that pay BOG. Many experienced punters keep both kinds of account and use whichever is better on the day.

SBK app, payments and withdrawals

SBK was designed as an app, and the iOS version holds a 4.6 rating from more than 6,000 ratings on the UK App Store. Racing, price alerts and the Best Price comparison all sit within the same clean layout; our betting apps guide puts it alongside the alternatives.

Registration and identity checks run inside the app: tap Register, complete your name, date of birth, address and mobile, and UKGC verification runs in the background. As with every UK-licensed firm, you must verify your identity, by electoral roll check or document upload, before withdrawing winnings.

The minimum deposit is £10, or £25 by PayPal. Visa and Mastercard debit cards, Apple Pay (for deposits only), PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Trustly and bank transfer are all accepted. Instant bank transfer withdrawals can arrive within 12 hours, e-wallets and Trustly take one to two business days, debit cards one to six, and standard bank transfer five to ten. Support is by live chat.

SBK sports betting: football coverage, Auto Acca and the social layer

Sports coverage takes in the Premier League and the EFL, the major European leagues, tennis, US sports, horse racing and greyhounds. The Bet Feed adds a social layer: you build a betting profile, browse the bets other SBK members are placing and compete on leaderboards.

The five-leg minimum on the welcome tokens is SBK's structural way of pushing new customers towards Bet Builders and Multiples, the bet types where the Price+ edge over competitors is biggest. Strategically, SBK wants to onboard users into the bets where the product feels strongest, not into singles, where any sportsbook is roughly equivalent.

SBK free bet terms, from qualifier to payout

Most of the headline conditions are covered above; these are the clauses that change how the free bet tokens play out in practice.

What counts as the qualifying bet

The qualifier has to be a stake of £20 or more at 2/1 (3.0) or bigger, placed and settled. A win single, a Bet Builder or a multiple all count if the price and stake are right, as long as nothing is cashed out.

Voids and winnings

Winnings from a token go to the withdrawable balance, but the token stake does not come back with them: SBK’s own example is a £10 free bet at 3/1 paying £30. If the selection is voided, the free bet stake is returned to you. Tokens cannot be cashed in, and each must be staked at its full value.

Sign-up offers do not stack

The welcome deal cannot be combined with any other SBK sign-up promotion, including the referral offers SBK runs with partner brands. Customers who registered under an earlier offer keep the deal that was live when they joined.

A worked example on racing

Back a horse at 5/2 for £20; at 3.5 it clears the 3.0 bar, and the free bets follow within 48 hours of settlement. Put a multiple token on five racing selections at evens each. The combined odds are 32.0, so if all five win SBK pays 31 times the token value in winnings; the token itself is not returned. Five odds-on favourites at 4/5 multiply out to roughly 18.9, a more realistic target that pays about 17.9 times the token.

SBK promotions after the welcome bonus

SBK’s regular promotions lean on football and US sports rather than racing, which fits a sportsbook built around exchange pricing instead of concessions.

Acca Boost

Acca Boost adds a percentage to the winnings on accumulators of three or more selections on football, NFL and Major League Baseball, with every leg at 1.20 (1/5) or bigger. Pre-match and in-play legs both count. It does not apply to Bet Builders, Bet Builder X, specials, bets struck with free bet tokens or bets later cashed out, and payouts under the promotion are capped at £250,000 a day. If a leg is void, the boost is recalculated on the selections that remain. Horse racing is not included.

Weekly and referral offers

The SBK help centre also lists a weekly offer of £10 in free bets for £50 staked, and refer-a-friend deals tied to partners such as At The Races and talkSPORT. Racing fans have had SBK Arena too, a free-to-play racing game in which you hold your horse over hurdles for a leaderboard place, with free bets for the top 50. A bet of £1 or more adds extra plays for the day.

Who is eligible for the SBK joining offer

New UK customers aged 18 or over who have never held an SBK or Smarkets Exchange account. SBK limits the deal to one per individual, family, household address, email address, payment account, IP address and shared computer, so two people in the same home cannot both claim it. Anyone who has received an email from SBK saying they are not eligible for bonuses is excluded even if they meet every other condition. The terms do not make separate provision for Northern Ireland.

Is SBK safe and legit?

SBK is a trading name of Smarkets (Malta) Limited, which also runs the Smarkets exchange and is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission under account number 39173. UK customers start with a default daily net deposit limit of £1,000, and deposit limits, bet limits and GAMSTOP self-exclusion are all available.

SBK's account settings include deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders and self-exclusion options under Responsible Gambling in the app menu. Free, confidential support is available from GambleAware.org, from GamCare, and from the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, open around the clock.

SBK pros and cons

What we like

  • Exchange-powered prices with an in-app Best Price comparison
  • Live streams of UK, Irish and French racing
  • Well-rated iOS app (4.6 from 6.1k ratings)

What could be better

  • No Best Odds Guaranteed
  • Free bet tokens need five legs each
  • Few racing-specific promotions

SBK and horse racing: where we land

SBK is the sportsbook offshoot of the Smarkets exchange, and its prices carry the family resemblance. Odds are drawn from exchange markets, and a Best Price comparison in the app shows where SBK sits against other bookmakers on a given selection. Add live streams of British, Irish and French racing and an iOS app rated 4.6 from more than 6,000 ratings, and there is a clear case for keeping an account open for the days you want a sharp price.

The case against is just as clear. SBK does not offer Best Odds Guaranteed, so a morning price on a drifter stays a morning price. There is no published extra-places programme and the racing promotions are thin next to the high-street firms. The welcome offer's free bets come as tokens that need at least five legs apiece, which suits acca builders rather than racing singles players. Six out of ten: excellent on price, light on everything around it.
