Ladbrokes promo code

Ladbrokes promo code and welcome offer: Bet £5, get £30 in free bets

No Ladbrokes promo code is needed for the joining offer. Bet £5, get £30 attaches to any new account that has not yet deposited, so there is nothing to type in at registration. The things that do decide it are how you pay and what you back first.

Deposits by Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, any prepaid card and certain debit cards do not qualify for the welcome bonus. The first bet must be at least £5 at odds of 1/2 or bigger, placed within 14 days of registering, and it cannot be cashed out, placed on Tote or Pools, or struck at a boosted price. On an each-way bet only the win part counts, so a £2.50 each-way bet falls short.

The upside of the Ladbrokes sign-up offer is that a racing punter can qualify with a single bet on a horse. Pick a runner at 1/2 or bigger, stake £5 win, and the free bets land as soon as the bet is placed rather than when it settles, so you can use them on the same afternoon.

Ladbrokes welcome offer: six £5 free bets for a £5 stake

Place a first bet of £5 or more at 1/2 or bigger and Ladbrokes credits six £5 free bets once it is placed, regardless of the result. Four can be used on any sportsbook market, horse racing included; the other two must go on football Bet Builders. That gives a racing fan £20 of usable free bets for a £5 outlay, with the football pair as a bonus for the weekend.

There are limits to keep in mind. The free bets must be used in full within seven days of landing, they cannot be cashed out or used on virtual sports, Tote or Pools, and the stake is not returned with any winnings. Ladbrokes’ usual maximum payout rules also apply. A qualifying bet at 1/2 on a short-priced favourite is the lowest-risk way through; our today’s racing page lists the day’s cards.

  1. Sign up through our link; no promo code is needed.
  2. Deposit £5 or more by debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe and prepaid cards do not qualify.
  3. Bet £5 or more at 1/2 or bigger within 14 days of registering. Each-way bets count only on their win part.
  4. Use the six £5 free bets within seven days: four on any market, two on football Bet Builders.

Ladbrokes horse racing: BOG, extra places and Bet Builder

Ladbrokes’ connection to the sport goes back further than almost any name in British betting. The firm was founded in 1886 as commission agents for horses trained at Ladbroke Hall in Warwickshire, and it remains a go-to bookmaker for the big racing weeks: Cheltenham, Royal Ascot and the Grand National.

Ladbrokes covers British and Irish racing in depth, with separate sections for France, the United States and the Middle East. Around the big meetings the menu widens to jockey, trainer and winning-distance markets, and greyhound racing has its own Best Odds Guaranteed concession.

That heritage still shapes the product. Racecards come with Racing Post tips and Spotlight comments built into the page, so form study happens without leaving the site, and you can move quickly through the day’s racing by filtering by time or meeting, or open the Specials tab for less conventional combinations. Coverage stretches to the big international days too, from the Breeders’ Cup to the Kentucky Derby.

Best Odds Guaranteed: the opt-in and the cap

BOG applies to all UK and Irish races for win, each-way and multiple bets placed from 8am on race day, but only after you have opted in once; bets struck before the opt-in do not qualify. The extra payout is capped at £10,000 a day. Ante-post, forecasts, tricasts, enhanced accas, specials, price boosts and cashed-out bets are excluded, as is anyone who deposits by Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill or a prepaid card. Standard each-way place terms are not published on a Ladbrokes promotions page, so check them on the bet slip.

Making the opt-in count

Because the opt-in is a one-off, the fix takes seconds, but it is easy to miss: a punter who opened an account years ago and never ticked the box is betting without the guarantee. Do it before your next bet, fund the account by debit card rather than an e-wallet, and wait until 8am on race day to strike singles. An early price taken the night before sits outside BOG, which is fine if you are confident the horse will shorten, but a risk if it drifts. The £10,000 daily cap will not trouble most punters; it only bites on very large stakes at big prices.

Extra Place Races

Ladbrokes nominates selected British and Irish races each day to pay an extra place, with bets accepted from 3pm the day before. Minimum runner requirements apply, so a race that loses horses on the morning can fall out of the promotion. Combine an extra place with BOG and an each-way bet on a big-field handicap starts to look attractive; our each-way calculator shows the difference an extra place makes.

Bet types and Horse Racing Bet Builder

Win and each-way singles, forecasts, tricasts and the usual multiples are all here. The Horse Racing Bet Builder is the distinctive piece: it combines several selections from a single race into one price, so a strong view on how a race will unfold can be backed as one bet. Two of the six welcome free bets are Bet Builders, although on football rather than racing. A daily Odds Boost adds a little extra on a chosen bet. For multiples, the bet calculator works out potential returns before you stake.

Racecard tools: Pre-Parade, Bet Filter and Lucky Dip

Build Your Own Racecard lets you add up to ten races from any UK, Irish or international meeting, so the cards you are following stay in one place. The Pre-Parade tab brings up Racing Post stats and form for every runner, and the Bet Filter narrows the field by odds range, form and whether a horse is proven on the ground.

For punters who fancy a flutter without the form study, Lucky Dip picks a random selection at the tap of a button. It is a bit of fun rather than a strategy, but it sits neatly alongside the more serious tools.

Tote Guarantee and streaming

Pool punters can join the Tote Guarantee on selected races, sharing in pools of up to £150,000. Live racing streams are available as well. For the biggest days, our Grand National free bets page compares what each bookmaker is offering.

Ladbrokes free bet rules: the clauses that cost punters money

Most of the Ladbrokes joining terms are standard for an Entain brand, but a handful are stricter than they first appear.

Who qualifies

The account must be verified and must never have been funded before, and you need to live in the UK or the Republic of Ireland. Only the first bet on the account is assessed, so if that first bet is £2 on a 4/1 shot, the offer is gone; there is no second chance with a bigger stake.

Accumulators as the qualifier

A multiple can trigger the offer, but every leg must be 1/2 or bigger, not just the combined price. A treble that includes a 2/5 favourite will not count, even if the overall odds are 8/1.

Where the free bets cannot go

Greyhounds, eSoccer, virtual sports, Tote and Pools are off limits, which matters for anyone who likes the dogs, since Ladbrokes is otherwise generous to greyhound punters. Each free bet must be staked in full on a separate sports market, so you cannot split one £5 credit into two £2.50 bets or put two free bets on the same race.

Void free bets are lost

This is the clause to remember on a wet Saturday. If a bet struck with a free bet is made void, for example when a meeting is abandoned or your horse is withdrawn, the free bet stake is not returned. Use them on races and matches unlikely to be called off, and avoid backing horses whose running is in doubt.

A worked example

Deposit £5 by debit card and back a horse at 6/4 for £5 win. The moment the bet is placed, six £5 free bets arrive, each valid for seven days. One goes on a 5/1 winner in the next race and returns £25, as the stake is not included. Another goes on a horse that becomes a non-runner, and that £5 is lost rather than refunded.

Ladbrokes promotions for existing customers: acca insurance, Tote Guarantee and free-to-play

Ladbrokes splits its ongoing offers between racing concessions and football promotions, with the free-to-play game sitting on top.

Racing: Odds Boost, Top Price and the Tote Guarantee

Each day you get an Odds Boost to apply to a bet of your choice, switched on from the bet slip. Top Price flags daily chances to take a better price on racing, and the Tote Guarantee puts guaranteed pools worth up to £150,000 on selected races each week, a draw for anyone who plays the Placepot or Jackpot. The Horse Racing Bet Builder combines several outcomes from one race into a single price.

ACCA Insurance and 2Up & Win

ACCA Insurance covers your first qualifying football accumulator each day. Ladbrokes’ own guide sets the bar at five or more selections, each at 1/10 or bigger and at least 3/1 overall, on markets such as Match Result, Both Teams to Score, Correct Score and Total Goals. If one leg lets you down, the stake comes back as a free bet of up to £10, valid for seven days. 2Up & Win pays a match-result bet as a winner if your team goes two goals up in a selected match.

Bet Builder+

Bet Builder+ joins two or more football Bet Builders from different matches into one bet and lets you add a horse or a tennis player on top. The odds multiply like a normal accumulator, and if one leg is voided the bet runs on at a recalculated price.

1-2-FREE

The weekly free-to-play predictor asks for the correct score in selected football matches. Prizes range from a share of a £10,000 cash pot to a £2 Bet Builder free bet or 500 LadBucks, with one entry and one prize per person each week.

Ladbrokes racing bets explained: from win singles to the Tote

Ladbrokes offers every popular way of backing a horse, and each suits a different kind of punter.

Win, each-way and place only

A win bet is the classic choice: you pick the horse you think will cross the line first, such as your fancy for the Grand National. An each-way bet adds a safety net by combining a win bet with a place bet, so you are paid if your horse wins or finishes in the places. Place only is the more conservative option, paying out if your horse makes the frame regardless of its exact position.

Forecasts, tricasts and winning distances

A forecast asks you to name the first two home in the correct order, which makes it a popular bet for races such as the Derby at Epsom. A tricast goes a step further, needing the first three in order. Winning distance betting lets you back the margin by which the winner will finish clear, adding an analytical angle for punters who study how races are run.

Multiples and pool betting

Full-cover bets such as the Lucky 15 or Heinz combine several selections into one wager, ideal if you are following several races across a festival card. Tote betting works differently: stakes go into a pool that is shared among the winners, and Ladbrokes adds guaranteed pools on selected races.

Ladbrokes and racing: from Ladbroke Hall to Kempton on Boxing Day

Few bookmakers can trace their roots so directly to the horse. The firm was founded in 1886 by Messrs Schwind and Pennington as commission agents for horses trained at Ladbroke Hall in Warwickshire; the Ladbrokes name arrived in 1902, when Arthur Bendir joined the partnership and the business moved to London. More than a century and two mergers later, it sits within Entain alongside Coral.

Race sponsorship

Ladbrokes has a long history of putting its name on big races, and the highlight of its jumps season is now Kempton’s Christmas Festival. It has backed the King George VI Chase since 2019, and on Boxing Day the Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle shares the card with it, so look for special promotions and free bet offers ahead of the meeting. Older punters will remember the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury, the race that replaced the Hennessy; it carried the Ladbrokes name from 2017 to 2021 before Coral took over the title in 2022.

Ambassadors and tips

Ladbrokes publishes a full roster of racing previews and blogs on the day’s big races, and its ambassadors give the content some inside knowledge. Jumps trainer Dan Skelton writes for the bookmaker, and Flat jockey Sean Levey joined him in 2025, offering behind-the-scenes accounts of his rides at the major meetings in written and video blogs.

Ladbrokes sports betting: football, greyhounds and virtuals

Football is a highlight at Ladbrokes, with regular promotions and a broad range of markets across leagues around the world. Bet Builder gives you flexibility to create custom bets, while odds boosts and offers such as 2Up & Win add to the experience. Its football and racing odds compare well with the other major bookmakers, and the live betting section covers football, tennis, darts and even esports, with cash out available.

Greyhound fans can bet on a full range of races across the country, with all the major British tracks covered and each-way terms on every race. Unusually, Best Odds Guaranteed extends to UK greyhounds, a sport many rivals leave out of their BOG terms. Ladbrokes also offers the full range of virtual racing, horses and greyhounds alike, with races rendered in HD on recreations of real UK courses; you can even skip straight to a virtual Grand National.

Ladbrokes app and payments

The Ladbrokes Sports Betting App is rated 4.7 stars from around 101,000 ratings on the UK App Store, a strong score from a very large sample. Beyond racing it carries Bet Builder and Bet Builder+, ACCA Insurance, the 2Up & Win early payout on football, and free-to-play games such as 1-2-FREE and Lucky Dip.

The app is a strong choice for betting on the go, packed with features yet refreshingly easy to navigate. Sports are listed clearly in the A-Z tab, and the clean, no-frills design is handy when you are betting on a train or grabbing a coffee. Quick Bet is the highlight: tap a price and a bet slip appears, so you can place a bet in seconds. You can also set a default start page, so racing or football fans can jump straight to the section they use most, and the app is the only place to play the 1-2-FREE prediction game.

Deposits start at £5 by Visa or Mastercard debit card, Maestro, Apple Pay, Google Pay or instant bank payment, and at £10 by PayPal. Paysafecard and bank transfer are also accepted. Keep the payment exclusions in mind: an e-wallet or prepaid deposit costs you both the welcome offer and Best Odds Guaranteed. Support is by live chat and a contact form in the help centre.

Credit cards cannot be used, in line with UK rules, but UK-registered debit cards carry no fee. There is no telephone line, so live chat is the quickest route if something goes wrong. To open an account you must be 18 or over and live in the UK or Ireland, and registration takes only a few minutes.

Ladbrokes pros and cons

What we like

  • BOG on every UK and Irish race from 8am
  • Daily Extra Place Races and a Horse Racing Bet Builder
  • Low £5 entry to the welcome offer

What could be better

  • BOG needs a one-time opt-in and excludes e-wallet depositors
  • Welcome offer excludes PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and Paysafe deposits
  • Free bets expire after seven days

Our Ladbrokes racing verdict

Ladbrokes remains a sound place to back a horse, with a few new caveats. Best Odds Guaranteed still covers every British and Irish race from 8am, Extra Place Races are posted the afternoon before, and the Horse Racing Bet Builder lets you combine several outcomes from one race in a single bet. The welcome offer is cheap to claim, asking for just £5 at odds of 1/2 or bigger.

The caveats explain the seven. Under terms introduced in April 2026, BOG needs a one-time opt-in, the extra payout is capped at £10,000 a day, and customers who deposit with PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe or a prepaid card are shut out of it altogether. Those same deposit methods are excluded from the welcome offer, and its free bets last only seven days. If you fund your account by debit card and remember to opt in, most of those objections fall away.

Ladbrokes horse racing: your questions

Is there a Ladbrokes promo code?

No code is needed for the free bet offer. New customers who deposit and bet £5 at odds of 1/2 or bigger within 14 days of registering get six £5 free bets.

Does Ladbrokes have Best Odds Guaranteed?

Yes, on all UK and Irish racing from 8am on race day. You must opt in once, the extra payout is capped at £10,000 a day, and deposits by e-wallet or prepaid card rule you out.

Which Ladbrokes races pay extra places?

Selected UK and Irish races each day, listed on the promotions page with bets accepted from 3pm the day before. Minimum runner requirements apply.

What is the minimum deposit at Ladbrokes?

£5 by debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and £10 by PayPal. PayPal deposits do not qualify for the welcome offer.

Which big races does Ladbrokes sponsor?

Ladbrokes is the sponsor of the King George VI Chase and the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day. Its name was on Newbury’s Ladbrokes Trophy from 2017 to 2021, but that race has been the Coral Gold Cup since 2022.

Who holds the Ladbrokes licence?

LC International Limited, part of Entain plc, licensed by the UK Gambling Commission under account number 54743.

What happens if a Ladbrokes free bet is made void?

You lose it. Under the welcome terms, a free bet that becomes void is not returned, so an abandoned meeting or a non-runner costs you the credit.

Can I use the Ladbrokes free bets on greyhounds?

No. The welcome free bets cannot be used on greyhounds, eSoccer, virtual sports, Tote or Pools. Horse racing fixed-odds markets are allowed.
